Land Acknowledgement | We affirm that we are all treaty people and acknowledge that the York Region District School Board is located on the lands of two treaties. These treaties are signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the First Nations of the Williams Treaties who are: the Mississaugas of Alderville, Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Scugog Island; and the Chippewas of Beausoleil, Rama, and Georgina Island our closest neighbour and partner in education. To honour this agreement we will take up our responsibility to be respectful of their traditions, knowledges and inherent rights as sovereign nations. We will respect their relationship with these lands and recognize that our connection to this land is through the continued relationship with these First Nations, and we acknowledge our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations. | ||

Hosted an Indigenous Education workshop | -Students form various schools, including SPS, worked in our Learning Commons for a day making drums | ||
Intermediate Curling Trip | -students were a bit reticent at first, but after the first group came back, sharing how much fun this event was, enthusiasm was overflowing | ||
Dance-a-thon | -once again a very successful event -students enjoyed the Treasure Map and upgrading Captain Skyhawk’s ship -Snacks run by School Council was a massive success, students kept coming back for more and more | ||
Intermediate Basketball Teams | -Both of our teams did incredibly well this season, with the Girls winning Areas | ||
Pink Shirt Day | -in recognition of anti-bullying | ||
Robotics Team @ YRSkills | -small group of students went to Humber College to compete in the Skills competition with Mr. Szeto, Mr. Monoyios and Mrs. Mitchell | ||
